Two Hindu Idols Brought Back From Australia, Now in Chennai

The Nataraja idol was brought to the ASI office in Fort St George in Chennai on Thursday.
INDIA---The bronze Nataraja idol and the stone sculpture of Ardhanareeswara, stolen from temples in Tamil Nadu, were brought to Chennai from New Delhi on Thursday. The idols were traced to the Indian authorities at the National Gallery of Australia in Canberra and the Art Gallery of New South Wales. They were handed over by Australian Prime Minister Tony Abott to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi in New Delhi last week. [link]
