THE HINDU

INDIA---Art galleries in the city are trying to reach out to a new set of buyers in the market. This group consists of young CEOs and people who are looking to make their first investment in art. These buyers, unlike art collectors who are well-versed with what they seek to buy, need some guidance on how to go about making their investment. In order to bring the works of Indian masters, as well contemporary artists closer to the buyer, Bid Art Bull and Global Art Hub are organising an auction of Indian Modern and Contemporary Art here on November 16 at 7 p.m. at The Ballroom, The Oberoi. On auction are works by M.F Husain, F.N. Souza, Amrita Sher-Gil, Nandalal Bose, Paritosh Sen, Krishen Khanna, J. Swaminathan and Amarnath Sehgal, as well as a selection of works by contemporary masters from major private collections like Paresh Maity, Shakti Burman, T. Vaikuntham and more. [link]
