Akram Hussain's painting of Lord Krishna with bikini clad gopis at a bar evokes criticism, protests

INDIA TIMES
INDIA---India's intolerance to anything remotely relating imaginative art with religion comes to fore again. In the latest incident, artist Akram Hussain's painting on display at Ravindra Bhavan in Guwahati's State Art Gallery was taken off display after multiple protest from right wing groups. The painting in question depicted Lord Krishna standing by a bar getting intimate with and surrounded by bikini clad women (supposedly new age gopis). The artist's take on Lord Krishna's romantic escapades have however not gone down well with many followers of Hindu religion with many lashing out at him on Twitter and otherwise. [link]
