Grantmakers in the Arts to present web conference on racial equity in philanthropy

Advancing Racial Equity in Arts Philanthropy will be presented on August 18. Maurine Knighton, who is senior vice president for grantmaking at the Nathan Cummings Foundation as well as chair of the GIA Racial Equity Board Committee, will begin this session by sharing what GIA has been and is working on towards racial equity in arts philanthropy. Kelly Brown, director of the D5 Coalition, will then discuss the coalition’s research on diversity, equity, and inclusiveness in philanthropy and identify areas where the field of philanthropy is still lagging.
