Reverend Justin Welby , the Archbishop of Canterbury, has suggested that Jesus should not be portrayed as white, CNN reported. The Archbishop of Canterbury is widely regarded as the principal leader of the Church of England and as the de facto head of the worldwide Anglican Communion. Participating in BBCRadio 4's Today Programme, Reverend Justin Welby said that the church must not ignore the Black Lives Matter movement and said Christians should rethink how Jesus Christ is portrayed as a white man. When asked whether Jesus' characterisation needs to be looked at , Reverend Justin Welby "Yes of course it does, this sense that God was white. You go into churches around the world and you don't see a white Jesus." [More]
