INDIANA---Quincy Owens is one of the forty exceptional 2014 Creative Renewal Artist Fellows from the Arts Council of Indianapolis, and his renewal journey is a spiritual one. His work is also spiritual with a mix of the secular (likely to cover the costs of hte spiritual journey). Recently, he wrote on Facebook about a new offering of "Over 100 new coasters finished for IMAF. I even gold leafed some saints (because I think that's what you're supposed to do), and my new favorite coaster is filled with storm troopers... Or maybe the Darth Vader one."

It was a maximalist experience for two minimalists who love to collect. We sold off multiple collections, including snow globes, Mary sculptures, paperweights, Disney plates, nutcrackers, 21c penguins, walking canes, and 100 prints and paintings! Most of it was in storage, but plenty was on display. We did it by inviting our community of artists and collectors to an estate sale before opening it to the public. Museum Calls Off Kehinde Wiley Show, Citing Assault Allegations

Bates for The New York Times The Minneapolis Institute of Art announced Thursday that it had decided not to move forward with a planned Kehinde Wiley exhibition, citing recent allegations of sexual misconduct against the artist, which he has denied.
