A&O Members: Readers, Subscribers, Artists Vote for the 2013 Prize Winners

Throughout human history, religions and art have been joined as part of the wider quest for meaning. That is why we need both. Since 2008, Alpha Omega Arts has been surveying our members (including digital readers) about the impact of Religious Art experiences in the United States. The results reflect the majority opinions of A&O members and INSPIRE ME! Artists of the Month, and are a judgement about the impact of the past year. The survey ends on Thursday, October 31. One Alpha Omega Prize winner (inductee) will be announced online each morning at 10:00 a.m., November 1-9, 2013 at the news site: alphaomegaarts.com.

It was a maximalist experience for two minimalists who love to collect. We sold off multiple collections, including snow globes, Mary sculptures, paperweights, Disney plates, nutcrackers, 21c penguins, walking canes, and 100 prints and paintings! Most of it was in storage, but plenty was on display. We did it by inviting our community of artists and collectors to an estate sale before opening it to the public. Museum Calls Off Kehinde Wiley Show, Citing Assault Allegations

Bates for The New York Times The Minneapolis Institute of Art announced Thursday that it had decided not to move forward with a planned Kehinde Wiley exhibition, citing recent allegations of sexual misconduct against the artist, which he has denied. The exhibition, called “ An Archaeology of Silence ,” originated at the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and has been traveling around the country. [ Source ]
