RELIGIOUS ART | NEWS OF WEEK
ALPHA OMEGA ARTS
By Gregory Disney-Britton
Aminah Brenda Lynn Robinson, an Ohio artist, known for her dazzling rag paintings of African American culture iconography, died recently. She was 75. In 2004, my husband Ernest was instrumental in bringing her two monumental "RagGonNons," into the collection at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, where her spiritual work has touched thousands of lives. Leonardo da Vinci said, "A beautiful body perishes, but a work of art dies not," and that's why the journey of Aminah Robinson (above) is my NEWS OF WEEK.
