"Adoration of the Magi" by Armando Adrian-Lopez
If you were a king, what kind would you be? In Matthew 2, we read of three kings (magi) who defy the fearful King Herod, so they can "pay homage" to the "king of the Jews." Today it takes the same kind of guts for artists to "pay homage" as worship vs. simple performance. New Mexico's Armando Adrian-Lopez is an outsider artist whose visual storytelling is the result of his warrior roots, training as a basket maker, and an "unshakable belief in LaUnidad, Unity in all things." That's why Armando's "Adoration of the Magi" is our NEWS OF WEEK.
