RELIGIOUS ART | NEWS OF WEEK
ALPHA OMEGA ARTS
By TAHLIB, Curator
When Kim Davis walked free this week, some lifted her up like a contemporary "Man of Sorrows," the iconic 13th century image of a crucified but still living Christ. Such symbolic relationships between God and humanity continue to evolve, and an upcoming exhibition "The Problem of God" explores that visual vocabulary. One of the 30 artists in that show is sculptor Berlinde de Bruyckere, and that's why her "Man of Sorrows" (above) is my NEWS OF WEEK.
