HUNGARY - Kuwait opened on Friday its second Islamic Art Gallery in the Hungarian capital of Budapest. The four-day gallery, held at the Museum of Applied Arts in Budapest, is co-organized by Kuwait's Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Kuwait Center of Islamic Arts, the Kuwaiti embassy in Budapest as well as the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of National Resources. Choosing Budapest to host such event comes as a result of Kuwait's and Hungary's concerns to push forward their cooperative ties. Speaking to KUNA after the gallery opening, Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Khulaif Mutheeb Al-Othainah and the General-Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Hungarian Foregin Ministry lauded the high level of relations between the two countries. "This event is considered another opportunity to familiarize the entire world with the Arab and Islamic culture, in general, and with the state of Kuwait's cultural, intellectual and civilized aspects, in particular," he pointed out.
