CANADA - The exhibition opened on November 22 at the “Art Square” Gallery, introducing artworks by five contemporary artists from Vietnam: Trinh Quoc Chien, Vu Huong Quynh, Nguyen Minh Thanh, Ngo Van Sac and Nguyen Quang Minh. The art, which represents five ways of dreaming, features a dream-like quality — including Chien’s Buddhist-inspired mixed media lacquer paintings, Sac’s intricate wood engravings and Thanh’s haunting, poetic water colors. Since his graduation from the Hanoi Fine Arts institute in 1993, Chien has been developing a unique style to express his perspective of oriental abstractionism, according to a press release from the Canadian organizer. It was a maximalist experience for two minimalists who love to collect. We sold off multiple collections, including snow globes, Mary sculptures, paperweights, Disney plates, nutcrackers, 21c penguins, walking canes, and 100 prints and paintings! Most of it was in storage, but plenty was on display. We did it by inviting our community of artists and collectors to an estate sale before opening it to the public. Museum Calls Off Kehinde Wiley Show, Citing Assault Allegations

Bates for The New York Times The Minneapolis Institute of Art announced Thursday that it had decided not to move forward with a planned Kehinde Wiley exhibition, citing recent allegations of sexual misconduct against the artist, which he has denied.
