INDIANA---Three historic congregations in the Hoosier capital - each with a heritage of more than 150 years and each celebrating a significant milestone - will be the focus of the radio show, "Hoosier History Live" today, Saturday 17 from noon to 1 p.m. ET on WICR 88.7 FM. All built in the 1800s, both the First Baptist Church (above left) and Second Presbyterian Church (above right), which flanked the Indiana War Memorial were demolished in 1960, leaving behind historic Christ Church Cathedral, Saint John the Evangelist, and Roberts Park Methodist Episcopal Church. Founded in 1841, I am standing in front of Zion Evangelical United Church of Christ, and just blocks away is the former home of a synagogue ( now Jehovah Witness). I live between the two.
