RELIGIOUS ART | NEWS OF WEEK

ALPHA OMEGA ARTS NEWS
By TAHLIB
This week in the Ukraine, Orthodox clergy wrapped themselves in peace and stood between freedom activists and extremist government officials. In Indiana, extremists came wrapped in the garments of Christianity but with deception and bigotry in their hearts. Matthew 7:15 says: "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly they are ravening wolves." Tomorrow,  the Indiana legislature will vote either for bigotry or freedom, and true hearts will be revealed. That is why the photo of Ukraine clergy (above) by Sergei Grits is my NEWS OF WEEK.

We are all members, united in the search for human meaning through art from the religious imagination. For us, it's more than Art. It's Religion. We follow artists who explore religious ideas with their creativity. When you follow religious artists, you join others who do the same. Some of us join as "Collectors" of the A&O Prize and make board decisions; others join as "Meeters" who make smaller donations but gather to talk; and most of us join as "Subscribers" to this "free" weekly newsletter; (or follow on: Tumblr, Twitter, Facebook, or Soundcloud). All vote for the prize.
