Fearless Christians should collect religious art
ALPHA OMEGA ARTS
It is right to warn people against the sin of idolatry, but that's not the reason for collecting religious art. God forbade the worship of statues, but he did not forbid the religious use of statues. Instead, he actually commanded their use in religious contexts. One of the most counter-cultural things a Christian can do is become a collector of religious art, and I don't mean for their church but for their home. When we collect, we preserve. When we collect for our homes, we remind ourselves and our guests what is most important in our lives.
