Day #25 - Art for Lent: Marina Abramović's "Holding the Goat" #Lent2016
ART + RELIGION

Abramović began her "Back to Simplicity' series in rural Italy after a three-month performance piece at the Museum of Modern Art called The Artist is Present, in which she sat at a table staring silently at a succession of more than a thousand visitors. After this work, she said, 'I had a need to go to nature, I had a need for the ritualization of the simplicity of everyday life....If your state of mind is clear it's a kind of spiritual matter.'
